Our first Christmas with our own shop was incredible.
To be honest, we didn't expect anything. Maybe with the one or other sale online and a few more sales offline. And were sold out for the first time at the end of October.
As many sales became foreseeable, we ordered what the stuff holds. And two weeks later they were sold out again.
What does it actually look like when we order new bags?
First of all we ask our craftsmen. Our biggest saddler is a company with three men. All the other craftsmen work alone. So we come in the middle of the Christmas season with a repeat order that goes beyond our capacity. Thank God every single one of them passionately enjoys working with us and appreciates our enthusiasm and support. Otherwise the whole project could not be done.
After our craftsmen know about it, we ask at our tannery. We only process leather that we know where it comes from, and we don't want to make any compromises here. Our idea of sustainability starts with the raw materials. The tannery is also a small family business. In mid-November, sold out for the second time, we received the news: company holidays until the beginning of January.
Normally it takes about ten days from the order to the time when the first bags arrive.
The bad news that we would not receive any supplies for the time being caused us to panic.
We could not deliver. The calls and messages we received from you when the backpacks would be available again broke our hearts.
We are young and we are just growing into our little business. Please excuse me! Next season we are prepared.
